Wine Country Weddings in Oregon

by Beverly Mason on 07/24/11

Wine Country Weddings! From the Columbia River Gorge to the Willamette Valley and of course the Yamhill County vineyards, you will find some of the State's most beautiful wedding settings.

July 23rd I had the honor of performing a wedding for Christy & Peter at Youngberg Hill Vineyard in McMinnville, Oregon. Situated high up on a hilltop, the stone ceremony site overlooks the entire valley and hills. The view was amazing.

The reception dinner was served under a big tent which provided nice shade. The band played lively music that everyone enjoyed. It was a perfect day!

I am looking forward to seeing the final video captured by Focal Point Digital Media. Ryan is a true professional and creates the most beautiful wedding videos.

There are a lot of vineyards to choose from when planning your wedding. You can view many of them at http://www.nwwedpro.com listed under venues.

Matt & Stacy's Wedding at Postlewait's Farm

by Beverly Mason on 06/27/11

A perfect day! Matt & Stacy planned their entire wedding from out of state. They hired vendors, chose menu, figured out seating, music, decor, dresses and more, all from California for their Canby, Oregon wedding. All while Matt was serving in the Middle East and Stacy was pregnant. By the end of February, Matt returned home barely in time to see his son be born. Busy with a new baby, work (both Stacy and Matt are full time Marines) they still managed to put together a fabulous wedding day.

Radiant Touch Weddings provided photography and ceremony officiating. The weather came through for a perfect temperature and just the right amount of cloud cover for perfect photos. The ceremony included a "Love Letter Wine Box" in which Stacy and Matt sealed love letters to eachother, a special bottle of wine and an 8x10 kissing photo into the box. Not to be opened for 5 years.

Bust A Move DJ Service provided music, fun, activities, bridal games and MC to make the entire day fun and also on schedule.

Catering was by Ethnic Food Catering. YUM!!! They cooked up a Medditeranean mix of food that was the best EVER!!

"Personal Bartenders" company set up in the Saloon with a full bar and GREAT service!!!

Forte' Floral from Oregon City did a fantastic job on the flowers and table arrangements. Very beautiful Jennifer!

Matt and Stacy had the greatest bridal party EVER. The groomsmen were handsome, friendly, fun and supportive. The bridesmaids were beautiful and helped Stacy out in so many ways.

Postlewait Farms is the most beautiful outdoor venue that you could ever imagine. The gardens, lawns, views, paths, water features and buildings are absolutely perfect!

Congratulations to Matt & Stacy! After some time at the Oregon coast this week they will fly off to the Carribbean. Have fun you love birds!

Wedding Weather Karma

by Beverly Mason on 05/24/11

That's what I tell all my clients! I have great wedding weather karma. If a ceremony is scheduled for outdoors and finally when the day comes, the weather man says it will rain all day. What do you do? Well, hopefully you hired me for your ceremony!

95% of the time it will stop raining in time for the ground to dry enough and the sun to shine on your wedding day. Or, the rain holds off until after the ceremony and pictures.

Such was the case 2 weekends ago for both of my weddings at The Aerie at Eagle's Landing and also Historic Deepwood Estate. Both rehearsals took place in the tent but when it came time for the ceremonies, the weather was beautiful.

On the following day, Sunday, yes it rained all day. But that was fine because I and hundreds of brides were indoors at the Portland Weddings of the World Show being held at The Sheraton Hotel Portland Airport location.

4 ballrooms decorated to the hilt. Each in a different cultural theme. There was Eastern Europe, Latina, Asia and India. The Fashion Show was sponsored and run by Semper Fashion. Wow, do they ever know how to put on a fashion show. It was inspiring! Each ballroom was just stunning with colors, decor, flowers, lighting, table settings and more.

Again this last weekend. Rain was in the forcast for Saturday. When I arrived at Skamania Lodge the sky was dark with thick low rain clouds and the wind was blowing a bit. As the time drew nearer for the ceremony to start, the wind stopped completely. And as the bride reached the alter, the clouds parted and the sun shined directly down on the entire ceremony. (this photo is from Skamania Lodge website, not my wedding)

Wedding table decoration

Not until after all of the outdoor photos were finished and the indoor ballroom reception had begun, did it start to rain.

So, all I'm saying is, if you are worried about your wedding getting rained out, maybe you can increase your chances of good weather by hiring The Radiant Touch Weddings for that radiant touch of sun!

Busy Wedding Weekend

by Beverly Mason on 05/12/11

As usual, Oregon weather for the coming weekend could be pouring rain or possibly sunshine. Who knows?! LOL. Yesterday I had a rehearsal at The Aerie at Eagle's Landing. It was pouring down rain so we rehearsed in the tent. Depending on Saturday morning's weather, the ceremony will take place either in the beautiful garden or in the tent.

Today, the sun is shining brightly, so my rehearsal at Historic Deepwood Estates will imagetake place in the lower garden. Then depending on Friday night's weather, the ceremony will either be in the garden or in a tent.

Either way I'm sure both weddings will be beautiful and the most joyous day of the couple's new life!
